Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Kenntnis grundlegender Konzepte und Methoden der Informationstheorie.

Die Informationstherie geht auf Claude Shannon zurück und beschäftigt sich mit der Frage wie man eine verlustfreie Übertragung von Daten über Kommunikationskanäle sicherstellen kann. Dies bedingt eine mathematische Quantifizierung von Konzepten wie Information oder Kapazität eines Kanals und führt zu einer wunderschönen und sehr einflussreichen Theorie an der Schnittstelle zuwischen Mathematik, Statistik und Elektrotechnik.
