Active participation, visible progress in the writing of a thesis.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
This seminar is mainly addressed, but not limited, to the members of the IK (Initiativkollegs) who are to finish their thesis soon. This seminar is an experiment, since it is not clear how writing can be taught. We may state some rules about writing, but mainly we will try to learn by example. I will try to bring examples of good and bad writing and discuss them. Ideally, we will spend most of the time on
your own mathematical texts and discuss their qualities or weaknesses.This seminar will be held in English.
