Contents: This course aims at providing students with an overview of the WTO law, main components being WTO provisions governing the institution itself, the dispute settlement system and capita selecta of substantive WTO law, including the provisions on most-favoured nation and national treatment. The course commences with an historic overview of the evolution of the WTO as the main organisation ruling economic globalisation and its institutional dimension. The unique features of its dispute settlement procedure, a centrepiece of WTO law, is thoroughly analysed. Next, the core principles governing trade in goods are discussed. Finally, special consideration is given to the issue of regionalism within the WTO.
