Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Students know the basic equations for groundwater flow and transport in 3D space. They know analytical and numerical methods to solve flow and transport problems. They are able to build a simple groundwater model and understand boundary conditions, numerical discretization, calibration and validation of groundwater flow models.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

During the course, exercises with a total of 100 points have to be solved. For positive completion at least 51 points have to be attained AND 100% of presence at the course (17.02.2020 - 21.02.2020) is mandatory.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

MA ERD 8 (for Master Earth Sciences) or 280215-1 VU PS2 Groundwater Systems (for Master Environmental Sciences)

Prüfungsstoff

Questions related to course content on numerical groundwater modeling as well as the construction of a simple 3D groundwater model from scratch according to instructions as well as its application answer simplified prediction and optimization tasks.
