Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The concepts of sustainable development and globalisation are complex and multi-layered. Sustainability issues and socio-economic transformation processes in this context have long been ignored in research and practice. In this seminar, we will approach the topic by focusing on the challenges of specific economic sectors and industries. Based on academic literature, guest contributions from research and practice, and collaborative work in research teams we discuss these complex issues. The seminar seeks to strengthen two aspects: developing research expertise and knowledge and strengthening collaborative and interdisciplinary research skills. Students in the seminar are therefore asked to work in groups and produce a scientific research report dealing with a specific industry in the context of globalisation and sustainable development.
