Information
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
In this course you will deeply dive into landslide research. Just like in a holistic master thesis, students will work in groups through all necessary steps to landslide research, from developing a research question, to carry out field work with different equipment (drilling rig, drone flights, ERT, etc.) and to analyse the generated data, to finally interprete and make sense of the results. As we will also extract sediment cores, there is also the possibility to do lab work and analyse the retrieved soil samples. We will go together in the field from the 27.3.-30.3.2023 to our study site in Brandstatt in Lower Austria (find more information to the project and the study site here https://esurflab.at/standorte/) and will stay in the 'Mostlandhof' where you will have own group appartments with a kitchen. On the 30.3. we will go back to Vienna and at the 31.3.2023 we will meet up for a heads up concerning which data you collected and how to visualize and manage them.Further in the course we will guide you through processesing the different data sets and work with different landslide modelling approaches. The costs of the field work will communicated during the first meeting.
