Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

In this course you will deeply dive into soil erosion and fluvial geomorphology research. Students will work in groups through all necessary steps to study water and fine sediment dynamics and related management aspects in a catchment in Lower Austria (Thayatal National Park), from developing a research question, to carry out GIS analyses, field work with different equipment (drone flights, mapping) and to analyse the generated data, and to - finally - interpret the results as well as to develop strategies in the context of fine sediment management in protected areas.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

- active participation 10%
- final presentation 30%
- data preparation and analysis 10%
- scientific paper/report 50%
