The main European and global spatial data projects, such as COPERNICUS, INSPIRE, Global Map, GSDI, Digital Earth, Future Earth, UN Geographic Database and UN-GGIM (United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management) will be analyze and selected projects and efforts observed (like Digital Earth or Smart Cities).

Attention is also paid to the use of geographic information from volunteers (VGI-volunteer geographic information) and as well as from the social media (SMGI) and potentials and possibilities of their integration into SDIs.

Future of SDI in Big Data era will be observed.
