Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
The aim of course is to enable the participants to handle, analyse, visualise and communicate data-based evidence. For this reason, UA III integrates various topics dealing with quantitative data.
The lectures discuss various data sources, the meaning and value of data, the basics of descriptive statistics and data visualisation, available tools, as well as the interpretation and communication of quantitative urban information.
Additional practical training in descriptive statistics, and more extensively, in the application of GIS enables the students to explore, understand, explain, visualise and communicate data-based urban narratives.

UA III is about working with quantitative data in social sciences and provides lectures as well as practical training in descriptive statistics and cartography/GIS (geographical information systems). Besides working with quantitative data, this course also places special emphasis on the meaning, interpretation and communication of data-based urban evidence.
