Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The current significant trends in climate change, the possibility of additional changes, and the growing scope of possible climatic consequences make it urgent to address adaptation across Africa more cogently. Africa has contributed among the least to greenhouse gas emissions, yet key development sectors have already experienced widespread losses and damages attributable to anthropogenic climate change. Understanding different adaptation options are imperative for reducing the vulnerability and livelihood of vulnerable groups to climate change in Africa.

This course provides a detailed examination of the climate change risks, and people’s vulnerability and synthesizes different adaptation strategies in Africa. At the end of this course, students will have a better understanding of climate change risks to the livelihood of vulnerable groups and adaptation practices in Africa
