The aim of the course is to introduce students to the way how ecological economics conceptualises the analysis of social and environmental phenomena, and the way how (ecological) economists conceptualise the analysis of dynamics, thereby learning from evolutionary theory. If there is sufficient interest by students, the course can also cover methodologies used by (ecological) economists in the analysis of dynamics and the challenges they are facing. This will be discussed giving lots of real world examples.

Prüfungsstoff

Depends partly on the number of students attending. Normally, lectures with plenty of time left for discussions.
Students will also be asked to read articles to prepare themselves for the lectures.
Students will also be asked to write two essays.

Literatur

A reading list will be provided during the first meeting on the 5th of October, 16.30 pm.

Further meetings will be agreed with students during the initial meeting - preferably in bi-weekly intervals.
