An initial discussion of the materials of this seminar will be held on Mar 5, 2018, at 13:00 in the Zoology Conference Room, UZA 1, Biozentrum Althanstraße 14, 1090 Vienna.

Please consult the reading list and paper PDFs on Moodle, and send a choice of three papers (in order of preference) to the lecturer of this course no later than March 24, 2018.

Seminar presentations will take place on Wed, May 2 at 16:00 and Wed, May 23, at 15:00.

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

This seminar is a companion event to lecture 300076 VO: "Beyond Networks." It aims at further developing foundational concepts of evolutionary systems biology, and provide insights into current research, through the study of primary literature in the field.

Students will be assigned keystone research papers in the field of evolutionary systems biology during the initial discussion.

Students will present their assigned paper (with relevant background) in an oral seminar.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

50% oral presentation, 50% participation in discussions.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

This seminar is an elective part of the Master Evolutionary Systems Biology, but is also open to other Master studies.

The language of the seminar is English.
