Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Advanced topics in molecular population genetics. The course will have
a short introductory segment, consisting of 2-3 sessions, including
lectures and worked examples. The remainder of the course will consist of
coverage of 5-7 advanced topics in molecular population genetics, with
each topic spanning 2-3 weeks. Each topic will be covered by a different
instructor, who will briefly introduce the topic, and assign papers for
discussion at the next meeting. Students will be required to write short
essays on the week’s reading and to take turns leading the discussion.
Examples of topics include:

Speciation: theory and data
Experimental Evolution
Complex Traits
Genome Evolution

Course assessment: Evaluation of essays and course participation. ?
Reading: Scientific papers, TBA.

Prerequisites: An introductory course in evolutionary genetics. May be
any of:
