Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The course will review the physical and chemical characteristics of the marine environment and relate these to the ecology of microbial communities in the water column, sediments, hot vents. Special emphasis will be given to the ecology of microbes in relation to biogeochemical cycles in the ocean and to the expected changes of the climate regimens in the ocean.
The course will be held in English
