Anhand von aktuellen Beispielen (zB., Artenverlust, Versauerung der Ozeane), erfahren die Studierenden wie Ökologie als Wissenschaft zu Lösungen von globalen Umweltproblemen beitragen kann. Als Grundlage zu diesem Verständnis, lernen die Studierenden wesentliche Aspekte der Populationsökologie, Gemeinschaftsökologie und der Ökosystemökologie kennen.
