This one hour lecture (1-stg) will be held as a block of 7 lectures on selected Thursdays, 17.00-19.00
-large seminar room (1st floor) at the Center for Brain Research, Spitalgasse 4, 1090 Vienna, during the summer semester only.

axonal transport, targeting, synaptogenesis, glia cells,
nervous system tumors, demyelinating diseases - March 7, 2013

2. Lecture:Resting potential, action potential, voltage clamp,
patch clamp, structure and function of ion channels,
ion channel diseases, synaptic transmission,
epsp, ipsp, receptors, signal transduction. - March 14, 2013

3. Lecture: electrical synapse, transmitters,
acetylcholine system, myasthenia gravis,
noradrenalin system, dopamin system,
plasticity of the nervous system - April 25, 2013

4. Lecture: Parkinson´s disease, Serotonin system, depression -May 16, 2013

5. Lecture: GABA system, epilepsy, anxiety - May 23, 2013

6. Lecture: Glutamate system, Huntington´s disease, learning, memory, Alzheimer´s disease - June 6, 2013

7. Lecture:peptide systems, pain, addiction, emotion, schizophrenia - June 20, 2013

Inhalt: (1) Zentrales und peripheres Nervensystem, Aufbau von Nervenzellen, Axonaler Transport, Targeting, Gliazellen.
(2) Elektrische Phänomene im Gehirn, Ruhepotential, Aktionspotential, Elektrophysiologische Techniken, Ionenkanäle. (3) Synaptische Transmission, Transmittersubstanzen, Transmittermechanismen, Rezeptoren.
(4) ACh-System, NE-System, DA-System, Morbus Parkinson.
(5) Serotonin-System, Depression, Angst, GABA-System.
(6) Glutamat-System, Chorea Huntington, Lernen, Gedächtnis, Alzheimer. (7) Peptid-Systeme, Schmerz, Sucht, Schizophrenie.
