The preparatory meeting will take place online on 7th October 11-12 am. The link will be sent out to all registered students.

Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

This course is aimed at giving all new MEC students a first opportunity to participate in research hands on. The students will either work individually, or in very small groups together.
Each participant will choose one topic (viz. a small scientific project) that she/he will then work on under the supervision of the contributing faculty staff in the respective working groups and labs. Please check http://ter.csb.univie.ac.at/mec-4 for details on the available research projects.
The course will be held in a hybrid form. The preparatory meeting and the final seminar will be held online. The individual research projects will be carried out - if possible - in the lab, or in an alternative or online form, depending on the assigned research project, and on the COVID-19 situation.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Depending on the research topic, a written report and an oral presentation in a seminar that is organized at the end of the teaching period (Jan 2021)

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

Active participation during the project work (70%) and final written report and oral presentation (30%)

Prüfungsstoff

Scientific lab work under direct supervision of faculty staff.
