Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Thema der Vorlesung sind grundlegende Konzepte der allgemeinen und angewandten Populations- und Synökologie, z. B. Struktur von Populationen (Demographie, genetische und räumliche Struktur), Regulation von Populationsgrößen, Dichteabhängigkeit, Top-down- vs. Bottom-up-Kontrolle, r- und K-Selektion, zeitliche Dynamik von Populationen und Massenwechselzyklen, räumliche Aspekte der Populationsbiologie, Metapopulationskonzepte, Habitatfragmentierung und -qualität, naturschutzrelevante Konsequenzen populationsdynamischer Prozesse, Minimum-Viable-Population, Allee-Effekte, biologische Schädlingsbekämpfung, Grundstrukturen von Artengemeinschaften, Zusammensetzungsregeln für Gemeinschaften.
