Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Selected topics of cutting edge research and methodological advances in cell biology presented by different experts (topics usually vary slightly from one year to the other). Current topics (11 lecturers): Cytoskeleton and its role in disease; Nuclear assembly; Cell division; Cell fate determination; Epigenetics & chromatin modifications; Selective autophagy; Angiogenesis; Host-pathogen interaction; Tumor biology; RNAi-revolution; and Bioinfomatics in Cell Biology. In addition, students present a literature seminar (20 min) on a topic (related) suggested by the speakers.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

1. Written (final) exam addressing 3 or more topics covered by lectures. Selected topics and number of questions varies. Student's seminar presentations are evaluated separately (1-5). Final grade (1-5) represents averaged evaluations of written exam plus seminar which counts with a weight of up to 25% of the total.
