Die Lehrveranstaltung findet am IMP (Research Institute of Molecular Pathology - Am Campus Vienna Biocenter 1, 1030 Wien) statt.In order to maintain general safety in face of the covid-19 pandemic, the students are expected to participate in the covid-19 testing scheme (2x / week, voluntary, anonymous) implemented at the IMP. A first test sample shall be given Friday 11.06.2021 before 10am. Details will be explained at the Vorbesprechung.Requirements & conditions of admission:
Students who were admitted to the course in the last semester that was canceled due to the covid-19 lockdown will be admitted with top priority.Other criteria:

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
We invite students with interest in neurobiology during their Masters studies. We will teach modern approaches in neuronal cell biology, behavioral neuroscience and neurophysiology using the tractable model organisms Caenorhabditis elegans as a tool.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
The students have to actively participate in the course and read the required literature given during the course. After the course each student has to independently prepare a report (5 pages), including introduction into the research topic, presentation of results including statistical evaluation and conclusions.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Prüfungsstoff
The grade will be given by 50% active participation during the course and 50% report.
