Exam format: 1 multiple choice test + 1 topic presentation (group or individual topic presentation and duration depend upon the number of participants)

Topics of the multiple choice test: specific subjects that will be part of the test are highlighted during the presentations.Topic of the presentation: presentation of a free-choice topic related (but different) to the subjects of the lectures. (group or individual presentation and its duration depend on the number of participants)

The course will initially introduce some basic concepts such as sustainability, circular economy and life cycle assessment and it will present some data related to the mitigation strategies taken by the pharmaceutical industry to reduce their environmental impact.Information will be given related to the environmental impact of some Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and chemicals relevant to the pharmaceutical and biomedical sector.The course will present some approaches to mitigate the impact of specific compounds.Aim:
Introduce general concepts related to environmental conservation. Determine the impact of pharmaceutical industries and their sustainability strategies. Highlight the environmental impact of certain chemicals relevant to the pharmaceutical and biomedical sector. Screen possible mitigation strategies to reduce the environmental impact of chemicals. Develop a critical point of view on the subject of sustainability in the pharmaceutical and personal care product (PPCPs) market.
Give basic knowledge on key concepts and tools related to sustainability and applicable in the pharmaceutical sector.
