Course objectives:
Student shall be able to:
Plan an effective nutrition promotion activity which includes the assessment, intervention and evaluation phases;
Explain theories of behavior change and how they relate to nutrition promotion programming;
Explain social marketing and its relevance to nutrition promotion programming;
Identify important concepts for nutrition promotion programming for the following specific target populations- pregnant women, infants, adolescents, adults with chronic disease and the elderly;
Consider ideas and obstacles to global nutrition programming,
especially the role of culture and policy.Course requirements
All assignments and exams must be completed on time. The grade will be reduced if an assignment is turned in late unless a serious situation has occurred which has met the approval of the instructor.
