The objectives of this course are as follows:
- to help students improve their listening comprehension, writing, language and research skills;
- to provide students with an opportunity to reflect on and apply listening comprehension strategies;
- to raise students' awareness of writing processes;
- to help students apply their language knowledge and writing know-how appropriately in practice.

Students will achieve the course objectives by:
- analyzing and discussing authentic oral texts;
- paraphrasing/summarizing texts;
- producing original written texts of various types;
- rewriting/adapting texts to suit different situations/purposes;
- completing a variety of research tasks/exercises.
