Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
Introduction to basic aspects of translation work; task and text analyses for translation; terminology work; source-text based writing, English and German; summarizing texts;re-writing texts for different purposes, sight translation.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
Performance in class; assignments as homework (semester folder); one mid-term test and one final test.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Students will acquire basic strategies necessary for translation and learn functional assignment-focused approach to text production; improvement of text production skills.
Prüfungsstoff
Text analysis and text production in class; discussion of texts prepared by students in class or as homework; individual work and teamwork.
