Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
This course will offer an overview into the field of Applied Biomechanics and its underlying methods, especially focusing on motion and gait analyses. At the end of this course student will know the basic principles necessary to conduct 3D gait and movement analysis. They will know and understand its limitations and will be able to apply that knowledge to critically question gait and movement analysis results.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
The grading of this lecture will be based on two parts:
* Students will have to prepare a 15 minutes mini-lecture for their peers - 70%
* Participation in lecture, discussion, and submission of homework work (reading papers and answering questions) – 30%Die gesamte Leistungserbringung durch Studierende hat bei prüfungsimmanenten Lehrveranstaltungen des Wintersemesters bis spätestens am folgenden 30. April, bei prüfungsimmanenten Lehrveranstaltungen des Sommersemesters bis spätestens am folgenden 30. September zu erfolgen. Studierende, die sich nicht von der ggst. Lehrveranstaltung abgemeldet haben, sind zu beurteilen. Bei negativer Beurteilung ist eine kommissionelle Prüfung unzulässig, der Besuch der Lehrveranstaltung ist zu wiederholen. Rechtsquelle: Satzung der Universität Wien §10 (4, 5, 6).Sie werden ausdrücklich darauf hingewiesen, dass bei Feststellung einer erschlichenen Leistung (z.B.: Abschreiben, Plagiieren, Verwendung unerlaubter Hilfsmittel, Fälschungen, Ghostwriting etc.) die gesamte PI-LV als geschummelt gewertet wird und als Antritt zählt. (Eintrag in U:SPACE: X = nicht beurteilt)

The mini-lectures will be scored. You can achieve a total of 70 points in the mini-lectures as a group in the following categories:Quality of presented material (30 pts.): Slides are well-designed and legible, with balanced graphs/text that simplify or summarize the key ideas.
Presentation style (20 pts.): Effective use of verbal and non-verbal communication (e.g., voice, volume, inflection, eye contact).
Questions & open discussion (10 pts.): The presentation style is interactive and encourages discussions. The presenter engages with questions from the audience.
The implications of the presented information are discussed, both for clinical settings and in a broader research context (10 pts.).
