Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Aims, contents and method of the course

The colloquium is open to advanced PhD students who are writing (parts of) their thesis, and who work conceptually, empirically, or methodologically on topics of digital media, use digital trace data (such as data from social media), or work with digital/computational methods (such as text or data mining, network analysis, machine learning, or computational modeling & simulation). Participants will present a chapter/paper of their thesis, peer-review two other papers and actively take part in in-class discussions of the work of other participants. The colloquium is also a safe space to raise and discuss issues that arise in all parts of the research process of the doctoral thesis.
