Information
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
The seminar is aimed at PhD students who (also) apply qualitative methods to their research projects (especially qualitative content analysis). In this context, it is the goal of this course to theoretically discuss, and also practically apply qualitative content analysis to their concrete research projects. In doing so, the course attempts to provide tailored support to consolidate and advance the methodological design of the individual PhD projects.Hence, the seminar focuses on the PhD students’ concrete and project-related interests and needs. In the first unit, participants will briefly present their PhD project and indicate their specific needs for being able to apply qualitative content analysis. From unit 2 onwards, the units will comprise lecture formats (input provided) and interactive parts (in-class group works, short presentation of an article (applying qualitative content analysis), plenary discussions and specific PhD-related works). Moreover, individual consultations will be possible during the units and/or additionally via consultation hours. Appointments will be arranged on individual basis.
