Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
Writing a thesis is the challenge to think the topic in scientific terms, to envelope it in theoretical concepts, to argue the relevance of the topic by contextualisation of both, theory and practice, to design a methodology of research. All this needs to understand and to handle the epistemological context of research.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
Regular presence, involvement, teamwork attitude, presentation, final paper.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
The seminar aims to get to know the range and to sound depth of the epistemological quality as well as the meta-theoretical rationale (philosophy) of currently used theoretical concepts explaining the contextualization of communication, media, society, and culture.
Prüfungsstoff
The individual work on your thesis and the common work in this seminar should be connected to each other. You should gain from the seminar for your thesis und the work for your thesis should be brought in order to widen an to diversify your horizon of knowledge of the participants of the seminar to frame your thesis theoretically as rationalized and reflected as possible. This should be the reason for your choice, which group you want to join. A the end the method of working will be organized in that way so that each of you gains from each of you.
