Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
The doctoral seminar will prepare the doctoral students for the 8th annual Graduate Conference in European History (Graceh) in May 8-10,, which is organized in 2014 by the CEU in Budapest. Upon completion of Graceh, the seminar will help to prepare publications in English language journals. Aside from these purposes related to Graceh, the seminar will serve as thesis writing seminar in which advanced doctoral students can present single chapters of their thesis and beginners their concepts.

The doctoral seminar will prepare the doctoral students for the 8th annual Graduate Conference in European History (Graceh) in May 8-10, which is organized in 2014 by the CEU in Budapest.
Another goal of the seminar is to prepare for the Graceh convention in spring 2015, when the University of Vienna will be the host again. The Viennese Graceh-team will develop a topic and a CfP that needs to be accorded with the EUI and the CEU and also take first organizational steps in preparing the convention

Prüfungsstoff
The methodological basis for the discussion will be readings in comparative history, transferts culturels/Transfergeschichte, entangled history and other "relational approaches" in history and cultural studies
