Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

This PhD seminar centers on mobility studies as an interdisciplinary lens and approach to literary texts and other media. We will discuss a mixture of "classic" and recent scholarship in literary and cultural mobility studies and aim at making our readings fruitful for your individual PhD projects.
We will be joined by Prof. Annegret Pelz (German Studies/Comparative Literature), also to foster interdisciplinary thinking and dialogue.
You will receive critical feedback by both professors and peers on your individual PhD project.
Methods: input, presentations, discussion

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

- oral presentation incl. handout and discussion chair on one of the theoretical texts we will read, in connection with your own PhD project if possible
- written reflection of the course readings (ca. 1000 words)
- active participation

- written reflection (deadline: end of the term) (30%, English or German)

- regular attendance is a requirement. You may miss 2x90min (equals 2 sessions) at most.

We will discuss a mixture of recent publications in the field suggested by the lecturer as well as by the PhD students (some of these texts might be in German).
Texts for discussion will be uploaded on the course Moodle page.
