Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
The aim of this seminar is to give PhD students an opportunity to get feedback on their PhD work. Students are free to present in either English or German. Additionally, they will have to prepare written comments on their peers' work.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
Each participant is required to :
1. give a 15- 20 minute presentation with a one page handout
2. upload an extract of their PhD thesis (up to 5000 words)
3. upload comments on other students' work prior to the session it is presented in
4. actively engage in discussionAttendance is mandatory.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
To receive a passing grade students are required to:
1. give a 15- 20 minute presentation with a one page handout
2. upload an extract of their PhD thesis (up to 5000 words)
3. actively engage in discussion
4. upload comments on the work of other students on time
5. attend the seminar.The final mark is calculated as follows:
- Presentation (40%): Presentations will be marked for clarity, succinctness, and success in explaining ones research in an enagaging way
- Comments (40%): Comments will be marked for how well-considered, topical, and constructive they are, and whether they are submitted on time
- Discussion (20%): Students' are required to make contributions that are well-considered, topical, and constructiveStudents can present work in either German or English.
