Contents: The lecture offers a strong focus on practical enforcement through competition authorities and key issues from a practitioner's experience, as well as an overview of landmark cases relating to the different pillars of European Competition Law. It will cover key areas of European competition law, including cartels and restrictive agreements, abuse of market dominance as well as merger control (and a brief overview of the State aid rules). Participants shall learn what the basic rules are and be able to solve case studies taken from actual case law, based on the legal and economic principles explained. The lecture will focus on Articles 101, 102 as well as Council Regulation 139/2004 - other relevant secondary law (esp. guidelines issued by the European Commission) will be presented along with the primary law provisions.
