Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

In this workshop we explore how you can find and use scholarly information resources relevant for your PhD project. We will look into search and information management strategies that might help you to find, obtain and manage relevant academic literature. We will discuss how you can stay up-to-date in your research field. The focus will be on academic information resources and the ways in which they can underpin your own research. General, personal, disciplinary, interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary information research issues and strategies will be addressed.

PhD researchers from all disciplinary backgrounds are welcome.

PhD researchers are asked to join the pre-workshop online communication on Moodle to establish what research topics and what information research issues should be especially addressed. The workshop itself is a mixture of teacher instruction, active learning and the collaborative exploration of issues.

Individual follow-up sessions for feed-back and individual tuition are available.

PhD researchers will develop their information research skills and knowledge in order to search, find and manage academic information for their PhD projects more effectively and proficiently. They will have gained an insight into academic information resources relevant to their research topic and will have learnt and reflected on search and information management strategies in a process that will enhance their research competencies in their chosen field.
