Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
In this workshop we explore what scholarly information resources are relevant for your PhD project, what search and information management strategies might help you to find and keep relevant academic literature and how you can stay up-to-date in your research. We will focus on subject specific academic information resources and explore ways in which they can underpin your research. We will address disciplinary, interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary information research issues and strategies as well as the importance of developing a personal approach to this aspect of your research.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
PhD students will develop their information research skills and knowledge in order to search, find and manage academic information for their PhD projects more effectively and proficiently. They will have gained an insight into academic information resources relevant to their research topic and will have learnt and reflected on search and information management strategies in a process that will enhance their research competencies in their chosen field.
Prüfungsstoff
A mixture of active learning and teacher instruction. Individual follow-up sessions for feed-back and individual tuition are available.
