Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Dealing with conflicts and disagreements is an important success factor for any kind of university research collaboration. An open, constructive conversation is usually helpful for one's progress and an important driver for breakthroughs. Cooperative behavior serves as a catalyst for any project, process, or personal or professional relationship.

The ability to argue one's own point of view without denying the other person the same ability is a highly valued communication skill. This is where conflict prevention comes into play. In this workshop, you will learn to better understand yourself and others, recognize potential conflicts in time, and actively manage responsibility and solutions.

Goals and Contents:

• Getting to know basic approaches to conflict prevention.
• Reflecting on your own handling of personal and professional conflicts
• Exploring own resources for constructive action
• Courageous intervention in conflict situations
• Developing a broad spectrum of possible actions to act in conflict situations in a non-violent and de-escalating manner
• Apply and implement the idea of constructive conflict prevention in their own university practice
• Practice and adapt difficult conversations before engaging in them in practice
• Perception, interpretation, and self-assessment exercises.

Target audiences: Doctoral Students, those affected by conflict, and anyone who wants to create a fair and constructive working environment in their research projects and is interested in new solutions. Max. 12 persons
