CHANGES TO THE 3RD SITTING DUE TO COVID-19:The 3rd sitting of the exam will be digital via Moodle. Students must be registered via U:Space to access the exam.Exam content/Prüfungsstoff: lecture, e-learning materials, textbook chapters (NO CHANGES)Format: Written exam, to be downloaded and completed IMMEDIATELY (within a 120 minute window), and handed in through Turnitin. Technical requirements: Internet connection (for down- and upload), Word processor (exam will be in .docx format), conversion to .pdf (upload must be a pdf file)The exam will consist of 19 questions covering the contents of the lecture course that can be completed in a word-processor.There will be NO separate Multiple Choice part.The transcription part of the exam has been adapted into short questions of application and identification (the downloading of an IPA font is NOT required).Assessment: The number of points for each question is given in the exam. Total number of points: 75; pass rate: 45 points.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Students will be familiar with the basic principles of suprasegmental phonology, semantics, syntax, pragmatics, discourse analysis and first and second language acquisition. They will be able to apply their knowledge to English texts including transcription tasks
