Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
Grading is based on one written final exam at the end of the course plus bonus points earned by taking in-class quizzes. Both the final exam and quizzes will be in English.
The exam will have two parts: one part will consist of approximately 30 single-choice and short answer questions; the other part will involve the composition of a short essay. The first exam will be on site. For later exam dates, the delivery mode (on site vs. online) may vary and will be announced. The exam dates can be found at: https://sss-sinologie.univie.ac.at/pruefungstermine/vo-pruefungstermine/
Students can earn bonus points of up to 5% of the total number of points on the final exam. Several surprise quizzes will be held during class meetings through the semester. Students who participate in all the quizzes and score at least 60% of the total points on all the quizzes will receive bonus points. Bonus points cannot be used to meet the passing threshold on the final exam. Only students who meet the passing threshold on the final exam will receive bonus points, which will be added to the points earned on the exam.
Unless otherwise stated, no materials or aids are permitted. Students must do all work on their own, without any outside help. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. There is a strict zero tolerance policy regarding these rules. At a minimum students deemed in violation will fail the course.
