Aims, contents and method of the course
This course requires "Biblical Hebrew 1". Building on the acquired knowledge students will be made familiar with more complex issues of both verbal and nominal grammar. As well, syntax will become a more important component during the duration of the course. Participants will be instructed to translate easy narrative texts of the Hebrew Bible on their own, using a dictionary and the paradigms included in the course book.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The course is taught as a combination of the lecture and active participation of the students in class. Additionally, exercises on „Moodle“ are offered. The primary criterion for assessment is the concluding exam at the end of summer term. The first possible date of the exam ist the 26th of June 2018; for further possible exam dates see bibelwissenschaft-ktf.univie.ac.at/studium/pruefungen.
Examination topics
The text of the exam will be around ten to twelve verses long, which have to be translated in 180 minutes. The usage of a dictionary and a grammatical chart is permitted. Three verbal forms have to be analysed.
