Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Bioethical challenges require the commitment of people at all levels, and on all continents. This seminar will explore how philosophy, but also indigenous cultures and different religions, can provide reasons and motivation. In doing so, differences and similarities should become apparent and a basic understanding of interdisciplinary and intercultural as well as interreligious cooperation in ecological issues should emerge.
This blocked seminar is organized in cooperation with a CEEPUS Summer School within the network "Bioethics".

Assessment and permitted materials

Active participation and attendance are the prerequisites for a positive assessment. in addition, the grade is made up of the following individual performances:
Presentation (40%) Students make a group presentation on a chosen topic of the course.
Seminar paper (60%) Students write a seminar paper on the topic of their presentation.
Length: 25,000-30,000 characters including spaces, footnotes and references.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Attendance: at least 85%
Positive completion of all tasks.
