Aims, contents and method of the course
S/he who knows the Christian "vita regulata" - its history, theology, sources, spirituality, architecture, music - knows one of the pillars of Christian identity. The lecture "Monasticism - orders - monasteries 1" offers a basic overview, from early anchoritic movement in Egypt, to cenobitism in East and West, up to monasticism and mendicant life till the end of the Middle Ages

Overview of "vita regulata", under the perspective of church history, history of spirituality and theology as well as cultural history;
Ability of interpreting the sources and witnesses of monastic/mendicant history
