Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The course gives an introduction to the basics and to the most important methods of scientific biblical interpretation. Therefore selected Old and New Testament texts will be interpreted with help of the main methods of exegesis. Presenting, testing and discussing these methods is included.
Assessment and permitted materials
Presence in the first session is obligatory!
Abondoning from active and regular participation all relevant activities have to handed in written. These activities contain different homeworks and an E-Portfolio and will be valuated in the grade system of 1-5 (1=very good; 5=fail)
In percentage:
50% homwork (handing in on time is obligatory)
33% E-Porftolio (at the latest 30th April 2016)
7% Punctuality and active participation
10% Layout, style and adherence of the criteria of scientific work.100-91% = 1
90-81% = 2
80-71% = 3
70-61% = 4
<61% = 5You fail the course by gaining less than 61% and/or failing either the homework or the e-portfolio and/or missing more than 3 units without being excused by the lecturer.
If necessary changes in the valuation arise, students will be informed in time during the course lessons.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Acquirement of critical skill handling exegetical literature and working practically with the basic methods of exegesis. Increasingly self-employed analysis and valuation will be trained, so that the students are able to check exegetical discourses and differnt hermeneutical concepts critically.
Examination topics
Lecture; trying and discussing some methods during the course; deepening and reflecting the skills at home (homework); self-employed working in single- and group formation; Writing an E-Portfolio; "Blended learningW via moodle
