Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Overview of the most important approaches of European moral philosophy: paradigms of European moral philosophy (Aristotle, Kant, utilitarianism); Classical justifications of ethics (natural law, rational law), current positions (discourse ethics, contractarianism, neo-Aristotelianism, analytical ethics, evolutionary ethics, applied ethics).
Method: Lecture with opportunity for discussion.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exams, no materials permitted. The exam is usually held in German, although English and Spanish are feasible if needed.
Update 2.20.2024: Exams in presence, handwritten. Please write as clearly as possible, in complete sentences, and extensive.
Address the keywords in the question, which also creates an argumentative arc.
It is not possible to cancel the test at the beginning once you have received the exam sheet.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

In order to pass the exam, sufficient expertise has to be proven, including reading of the "Material sheets", at least 51% of achievable points.
