Aims, contents and method of the course

Are Conflicts Inevitable? - Religious Freedom in Debate: The human right to religious freedom is one of the most disputed rights in contemporary discussions. As examples one could think of debates on blasphemy as well as on apostasy or the judicial decisions on crosses in class rooms.
But what is the content of religious freedom and how to defuse potential conflicts?
The seminar "Are conflicts inevitable?" tries to give an answer to these questions. It will focus on the relationship of religious freedom and other human rights, on theological arguments for (or against) religious freedom as well as on potential tensions in this context.
