Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The Book of Daniel is the only apocalyptic book of the Old Testament that sought to provide Jewish believers with a perspective of the future during the Hellenistic crisis. The course introduces the Book of Daniel as a whole and interprets selected texts in detail (Dan 1; 3; 5; 7; 13). The original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek texts will be used as the basis of exegesis. Translations and other resources support access to the original text. The aim is to get to know the peculiarity of the Book of Daniel and to gain a deeper understanding especially of the apocalyptic visions in their historical and literary context.
