Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The lecture is the first part of the two-part lecture series on "Social Teaching" (Christian Social Ethics). In the area of basic social ethics, it focuses on historical and ecclesiastical/magisterial aspects, and in the area of normative orientations, it introduces social principles. In the area of contexts of Christian social ethics, the focus is on ecology and culture. The topics of social ethics are expected to be work, social security, ways of life, church and climate change.
Assessment and permitted materials
Oral examination of 20 minutes each. The course examination is held in German; at the student's request and upon request at sozialethik@univie.ac.at, the examination can also be held in English.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
A positive assessment of the examination is achieved if at least half of the maximum number of points of the examination is reached (grade 4). The other grades are formed in a linear fashion. A very good performance (grade 1) is achieved if the requirements are fulfilled to a degree that goes far beyond the essentials.
