Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This seminar serves Master and Ph.D. Students in Theology and Religious Sciences whose mother language is not German and who come from different academic systems. The seminar introduces mode and criteria of academic research and writing at the Catholic Theological Faculty and gives the opportunity of preparing texts and presentations. Complementary to this Seminar, a tutorial on academic writing will be offered jointly for Students of the Protestant and Catholic Theological Faculties.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Fulfillment of all tasks given in relation to the classes. Each task will be graded individually. A final grade is calculated from the average.

- Comparison of theological articles in German and other languages
- reading texts and analysing their structure
- Summarizing German theological texts
- Discussion and explanation of theological terms in German
- Writing short academic texts
- Preparation of a short Power Point Presentation
- Zitation wissenschaftlicher Werke
