Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Contents: The course first asks how "theology(s) of the Old Testament" can be understood and introduces some current concepts. It then addresses major theological themes of the Old Testament in their historical and literary context.

Objectives:
- Understanding of the concept of "theology(s) of the Old Testament".
- Knowledge of important theological themes of the Old Testament and their unfolding in the various books of the OT.
- Competence in dealing with the variety of theological voices in the OT

Method: Lecture with discussion

Assessment and permitted materials

oral exam (15 min.): Exam location: Schenkenstraße 8-10, 1 OG Zimmer 37a
First possible examination date: July 2nd, 2025
Further examination dates will be offered in WS 2024.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

For a positive assessment, at least 50% of the exam questions must be answered correctly.
