Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

MAIN OBJECTS: Two learning objectives are to be achieved, one theoretical and one practical. The theoretical learning goal: Students should recognize the relativity of concepts of God and attributes of God and, in relation to this, be able to grasp godless belief and prayer as a religiously meaningful and timely challenge. The practice-related learning goal: Empathy with the ungodly tormented demands a practice of courage to live a binding practice in favor of the tormented, "as if God did not exist" (Dietrich Bonhoeffer).
CONTENTS: Body memory; sacred childhood - destroyed childhood; abandonment in the face of sexual and other violent experiences; godless belief - incomprehensible mystery.
METHOD: Collaborative text reading and interpretation; presentations by students; writing of a seminar paper or bachelor's thesis.
