Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture introduces some central representatives and topics of metaphysics from an intercultural perspective by means of selected examples.
Topics: Plato, Aristotle, Buddhism (Nāgārjuna, Asaṅga, Vasubandhu), Hinduism (Śaṅkara, Rāmānuja, Madhva), Daoism (Lǎozǐ, Zhuāngzǐ, Chéng Xuányīng), Neo-Confucianism (Zhū Xī, Wáng Yángmíng), proofs of God and their criticism, theodicy, carmatheodicy, and ontodicy.

About the methods: videos will be uploaded on Moodle/YouTube, the content of which will be repeated and discussed in the face-to-face class.

Assessment and permitted materials

Online Multiple Choice Test.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

At least 50% of achievable points.
