Aims, contents and method of the course

Practice, completion, and in-depth application of the grammar which had been taught in NTG I; translation of capita selecta of the Greek New Testament.
The subject is presented according to the structure of the textbook, with additional grammar handouts and supplementary grammar and translation exercises (in class or as homework) supported by "blended learning" with the help of the LMS "Moodle".

Assessment and permitted materials

1) NTG supplementary examination
examination: in written & oral form
# written: 3 hrs, appr. 300 words of an unknown text of the Gospels or Acts; permitted materials: dictionary, Rienecker, list of short words (textbook p. 350f)
# oral: 20 min; grammar; vocabulary; reading matter of NTG I-III; no permitted materials; preparation time: 10 min
assessment: 1 cumulative grade
# grading key
1 :: 0-2,5 substantial = distorting mistakes
2 :: 3-4,5 substantial = distorting mistakes
3 :: 5-8 substantial = distorting mistakes
4 :: 8,5-12 substantial = distorting mistakes
5 :: 12,5> substantial = distorting mistakes

2) NTG I-II
examination: in written & oral form
# written: 3 hrs, appr. 300 words of an unknown text of the Gospels or Acts; permitted materials: dictionary, Rienecker, list of short words (textbook p. 350f)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Competence in independent translation of more complex Greek New Testament texts.
